Car Reg News – Police in Flintshire warn motorists after number plate thefts

POLICE in Deeside are urging motorists to be on their guard after a spate of number plate thefts.

Community policing sergeant Tony Heaword said car owners should make sure their plates are properly screwed on, as insecure plates have become theft targets.

He said: “We have had a number of incidents reported and they are often followed by the stolen number plate being attached to a car involved in ‘drive-offs’ from petrol stations.
