Number Plate for Organ Donors – Kentucky

The Kentucky Department of Transportation has approved a specialty license plate to promote organ donation. The Second Chance at Life organization is leading the efforts at getting this done.

The group must secure 900 applications before the plate will be manufactured.

Mary Debord’s husband passed away 15 years ago from a brain tumor. Before his death, he made his wishes of organ donation known to his family. Debord thinks the license plate is a great way to get the word out for the need of organ and tissue donation.
